MS Society wants residents to fill out new survey

A new survey “Listening to People Affected by MS” has been launched by the MS Society across Canada, including Lloydminster. The Lloydminster Chapter of the MS Society says the survey is being used to identify the needs, priorities and gaps in support of people affected by MS.

Chapter Patty Milnthorp says the results of the survey will help their programs and services, as well as research and advocacy work.

“We use this information to move forward. To build our strategic plan and listen to those people that are affected by MS”

The survey opened September 17 and people have until October 19 to respond. Milnthorp says the survey asks questions around programming and services.

“Asking for their feedback on whether they’re aware of what’s going on and if they’re keeping informed. If there are different avenues we can take to inform them if there is something else that they see is a gap in our services.”

The first survey of this kind was done five years ago with 6,000 people responding across the country. This year Milnthorp says they have amped up their social media and hope for a better response.

The survey can also be completed by people not living with MS or are affected by someone else’s diagnosis.
