Lloydminster community garden opens in Minor Park

50 fruit trees and bushes have been planted at the new Lloydminster community garden to help those in need. A ribbon cutting took place on Monday at Minor Park to celebrate the opening of the new garden.

Tree Canada helped fund the space with their Edible Tree’s Funding program. The program looks to provide a free and healthy food to local families. The Olive Tree is a partner on the project also aiming to increase public awareness of the benefits edible trees and shrubs provide.

Eight types of trees and bushes were planted including Honeycrisp Apple Trees and Northline Saskatoon Berry Bushes.
