Lloydminster Chamber celebrates Business Excellence Awards

The Chamber held its annual Business Excellence Awards this week.  On Thursday, businesses around the community of Lloydminster were recognized for significant achievements.

Some of the big winners of the night included Home Hardware, Furniture Gallery, Wayside Dental and Harley Owners Group.

Home Hardware took home the Integrity Award and the Business of the Year. Furniture gallery won Downton Business of Year. Wayside Dental received Small Business of the Year. The Non-profit of the Year went to the Harley owners group.

Chamber President Dabir Naqvi believes the award ceremony is important to help bring up the spirits of the business community.

“It gives them hope that we’re going to go back into good economic times.”

Each year it’s the Chamber President’s decision on who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Naqvi chose Spiro Kokonos.

“It’s always very very difficult because in Lloydminster there are so many people who you can pick from. We are so fortunate that there are so many community leaders doing such a great job for the community.”
