Plant Life to retail and educate on cannabis

Plant Life may be a cannabis store, but they also look to provide information to people unfamiliar with the product.

Tuesday marked the opening of Lloydminster’s first cannabis retailer, Plant Life. Regional Manager Tyler Stiger says he believes the cannabis stigma can be removed by people embracing that cannabis is legal.

“For those that are unaware of cannabis, I encourage them to come to Plant Life. Please experience what Plant Life has to offer in terms of education, showing people why the stigma should be erased,” Stiger says anyone with question comments or concerns should come by the store. “Even if they don’t buy the product at least they can learn more about it and I think that’s how we positively impact Canada as a whole moving forward in cannabis.”

Stiger says around 1,000 people came in for the grand opening and almost half of their product came off the shelves. He believes the staff knew what they were getting into but that they didn’t understand the huge impact the store would have on Lloydminster.

“This has been a huge scale of demographic and I think this alone paints a picture of why the stigma should be erased.”

Hours for the store will be seven days a week from 10 am to 2 am, Stiger says this is to reach all types of workforces such night shift workers. In a couple months, the hours will be reviewed to see if it is working for the store.
