The Lloydminster RCMP are looking to hire more officers to help with their work in the community. In a council meeting on Monday, Inspector Suki Manj requested additional funding to hire four new full-time employees. Constable Grant Kirzinger says the additional bodies would help the force face some its challenges, and allow officers to be more proactive by getting involved in community events, and educating the public to prevent crime before it occurs. Council has passed the request. It’s now in the hands of the federal court, which must also give its approval.
