North Battleford receiving over $700,000 in police funding

The city of North Battleford is getting six-figure support from the Saskatchewan Government to help with policing initiatives.

The province announced Monday that $770,000 in Municipal Police Grants will be going to the city. Mayor Ryan Bater said in a statement that the money will be used to help fund seven existing officer’s positions dedicated to “fighting serious and organized crime within the city.

Battlefords MLA Herb Cox spoke on behalf of the provincial government, saying he is proud to help RCMP members in the city, and that the funding will help make RCMP officers more visible.
