City of Lloydminster launches next phase of 44th Street Rehabilitation Project

The City of Lloydminster is launching the next phase of the 44th Street Rehabilitation and Overlay Project.

Starting Wednesday, July 8, the City’s contractor started repairing the curb, gutter and sidewalk on the south side of 44th Street, between 45th and 50th Avenue. Work on the north side of the street will begin immediately after the work on the south side is completed. The city says one lane in each direction will stay open, with detour signage, and posted speed limits.

Work on the 44 Street Rehabilitation and Overlay Project began on July 24, 2012, and was completed over the 2012 and 2013 construction seasons. The scope of the $9.6 million project included the full reconstruction of 44 Street from 44 to 50 Avenue, along with the milling and overlay of 44 Street from 50 to 62 Avenue.

The estimated completion date is Monday, August 10.
