Vermilion RCMP investigate fatal collision with pedestrian

On December 5, 2018 just before 10:00 p.m., RCMP responded to reports of a collision on Highway 16 in the westbound lanes at Highway 41.

A semi tractor trailer unit was travelling west when it struck a pedestrian on the roadway. Emergency crews responded but the 27-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced dead on scene.

The investigation is ongoing and is being assisted by an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist. No charges are expected at this time.

Vermilion RCMP are asking for any witnesses to come forward by contacting them at 780-853-5781. Witnesses can also call their local police or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
