City announces winner of inaugural block party

The neighbourhood of Steel Heights will soon be hosting a block party.

The area was named the winner of the city’s survey, with residents expressing an overwhelmingly positive view of their neighbourhood, and the highest desire to host the party.

The city says a date and location of the party will be announced soon, with residents along the street being notified prior to the event. The city also says the party will feature free food and family friendly activities, while allowing residents to meet their neighbours.

In July, the city released a survey asking residents which neighbourhood should be chosen as the host of a city-sponsored block party. City hall thanks all residents who participated in the survey.
