45-year-old arrested after RCMP issue search warrant

A search warrant issued by Onion Lake RCMP led to the arrest of 45-year-old Kevin Heathen.

After an investigation, police say the warrant related to a firearm incident in December 2018. Onion Lake RCMP implemented the search with the help of  RCMP Emergency Response Team, North Battleford Police Dog Service, and the Crime Reduction Team.

RCMP says they seized weapons, a large quantity of ammunition, and a small quantity of cocaine during the arrest of Heathen at an Onion Lake home.

Heathen is facing 8 charges including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The 45-year-old will reappear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on February 11, 2019.
