Lloydminster and District SPCA kick off cat adoption promotion

Lloydminster’s SPCA is running a new promotion.

The association is calling it the $50 Feline Frenzy, where pet owners can adopt an adult cat for less than half its usual price.

SPCA Operations Manager Jon Pushon says the association sees a lot of cats over the summer.

“This time of year, we tend to see a lot of kittens, just because cats go into heat two times of year, in the spring and in the fall,” Pushon said. “We start to see them come in this time of year, usually around two months old, and a lot of them are coming in as strays and the adult cats are always consistently coming in as strays as well.”

Pushon also says that while they prepare their kittens for adoption by spaying or neutering them, they hope to sell as many of the adult cats s possible.

The usual price for cats at the SPCA is $110.

Anyone interested should contact the SPCA at (780) 875-2809. The promotion will run from Saturday, August 15, until Friday, August 21.
