UPDATE: Water leak near Lloyd Mall isolated

UPDATE 2: The water leak has been isolated. Repairs are scheduled to begin March 8, and are expected to be completed later that day. During this time, the water supply for the three facilities will be turned off until the repairs are completed. Traffic interference is not expected during the repairs.

UPDATE 1: The City says due to a water break residents should avoid 52 avenue to 56 avenue and 39 street to 43 street at this time. Water has been shut off at Dr. James W Hemstock Assisted Living, Hearthstone Place and Points West Living. Dr. Cooke Extended Care is not affected by this issue.

The City says all three are on drinking water advisory. Also, residents who’re affected have been notified. City crews and contractors are currently working on the water break.

It’s not clear what is causing the flooding at this time. City crews are working to resolve the issue. In the meantime, it’s advised to drive a different route to avoid wetting the underside of your vehicle.
