County of Vermilion River issues road bans

The County of Vermilion River is putting road bans in place. Effective at noon on Friday, March 22, the following portions of oil surfaced roads will be banned at 75%:

  • Township Road 542 & Range Road 50: east 10.5 miles to Highway 897
  • Township Road 542 & Range Road 55: south 4 miles to Highway 45
  • Township Road 532 & Highway 41: east 6 miles to Clandonald Range Road 55
  • Township Road 532 & Range Road 50: east 2 miles to Highway 893
  • Township Road 512 & Range Road 64A: south 1.5 miles
  • Township Road 511 & Range Road 73: east 4 miles
  • Township Road 504 & Range Road 12: south 1.5 miles to Lloydminster Airport
  • Township Road 504 & Range Road 14: east 3 miles to Range Road 11
  • Township Road 503 & Range Road 11: south 1 mile to Willow Creek Township Road 502
  • Township Road 500 & Range Road 71: east 2 miles to Highway 41
  • Highway 16 & Range Road 20: south 14 miles to Township Road 474
  • Highway 897 & Township Road 494: east 11 miles to Range Road 12 and Lloydminster boundary
  • Township Road 474 & Range Road 41: east 6 miles to Highway 897

The county says the ban is being put in place to protect and preserve public safety and CVR infrastructure. The duration of the ban is unknown at this time. The county reminds everyone that all vehicles 22,500 kgs. and over require a permit to operate on CVR roads.
