Battlefords RCMP lay charges in connection to chase

The Battlefords RCMP has laid charges related to a police chase incident south of Battleford last week. Randall Nicotine of Edmonton, Alta. was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant for parole violations. Nicotine has received several charges, including weapons offences, forcible confinement, child endangerment, assault and resisting arrest.

Nicotine has appeared in a North Battleford court on Tuesday, March 26 and will appear again at 9:30 a.m. on March 27. The Saskatchewan RCMP have also requested conduct an independent, external investigation into the circumstances around the case such as the firing of officer’s guns. Additionally, the Saskatchewan RCMP has asked the Ministry of Justice to appoint an independent observer.
