Lloydminster MS Society celebrates Cruisin’ to End MS

Lloydminster’s chapter of the MS Society is celebrating after Cruisin’ to End MS.

A dollar from every Teen Burger bought at A&W on Thursday, August 27, was donated to the fight against MS.

The MS Society’s Client Services Co-ordinator in Lloydminster Patty Milnthorp says the money raised stays in the community.

“Most of the money [raised] stays here, for programs and services, support groups,” Milnthorp said. “It also pays for special things that people need like wheelchairs, or aides to help them [achieve] a better quality of life. Also, money goes towards research, not only in finding a cure for MS,  which we would all love, but also research to find better medications to better manage their symptoms so that they can have a better quality of life.”

Milnthorp also says that the restaurants in Lloydminster’s region were on track to raise a lot of money, with Vermilion projecting a total of $12,000.

Totals from the fundraiser have not yet been tallied.
