Open house to be held for Lakeside Area Structure Plan

An open house is coming on May 15 for a discussion on the Lakeside Area Structure Plan. The open house, held by the city and by Musgrave Agencies Ltd., is drop-in based for residents to hear about what may be in store for that portion of the city.

Musgrave Agencies has submitted an ASP application for the south-west neighbourhood, northeast of the intersection at 75 avenue and 12 street. The city says the application proposed a land-use concept and vision that aligns with the city’s Municipal Development Plan. Kevin Musgrave says he’s very excited to share the Lakeside ASP, and the many features it will bring to the community.

“We have an area called the ‘Urban Village’; the objective is to establish the urban village as the social, residential and commercial ‘heart’ of Lakeside. The linear parks will connect Bud Miller Park to the Servus Sports Centre. As a community, the ASP process will get us ready for the day that the market requires growth. Whether it is commercial expansion, residential growth, or adult living, we will be ready,” says Musgrave.

The open house is at the Best Western Meridian Plus Hotel from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Residents, businesses and stakeholders are invited to learn about the neighbourhood and give feedback. City administration, Musgrave Agencies, land use consultants and engineers will be present to answer questions. All responses and comments must be given to the city before 5 p.m. on May 22.
