There is now a memorandum of understanding between the City of Lloydminster and the Lloydminster Rescue Squad. The MOU identifies the service level expectations, call-out process and the tenancy of the Rescue Squad in the city-owned Emergency Services Building. City Council approved the extension of the tenancy agreement with the Rescue Squad until December 31, 2015, with no rental or utility costs payable by the Rescue Squad based on the terms outlined in the MOU. The Lloydminster Fire Department will be the first responders dispatched by the Lloydminster RCMP to provide vehicle extrication services pertaining to motor vehicle incidents in the city limits. The Rescue Squad may be requested by the RCMP to provide rescue and support services within city limits, including water/ice rescue, search and rescue, vehicle extrications services and traffic control assistance at no cost.
