WPD Ambulance nominated for provincial award

WPD Ambulance in Lloydminster, North Battleford and Rosthern are up for an Achievement of Business Excellence Award.

The organization was nominated under the parent company’s name Dutchak Holdings, in the Community Involvement category. CEO Walter Dutchak says his company tries to contribute to their community as much as possible.

“In all three locations, we do a variety of events, and we really strive to be part of the community, and we try to strengthen the community through worthwhile causes,” said Dutchak. “Our staff are really involved in every location, and they volunteer a big portion of their time. As a company, we volunteer our time and as a patron we donate some resources to help organizations as well.

Dutchak says examples of initiatives they contribute to include the Goat’s Christmas Wish, and the Cram an Ambulance Christmas campaign in North Battleford.

He also says that winning the award would be a nice way to thank his employees.

“It would mean that our staff would be recognized, that’s the big thing,” Duchak said. “They volunteer a lot of their time in different events to help the community out, and without us being able to have good staff, we would never be up for this award.”

Dutchak holdings is up against nine other organizations from across Saskatchewan, including Synergy Credit Union, the Prince Albert Co-Operative Association, and Airline Hotels in Saskatoon.

The winner will be announced Saturday, October 24.
