Two locals arrested after Highway 897 check stop

Two people from Lloydminster were arrested along with a man from Edmonton after a check stop near Frog Lake.  Elk Point RCMP says during the vehicle search police found a loaded rifle, $475 in cash and drugs along with other paraphernalia.

25-year-old Katelyn Dase from Lloydminster was charged with trafficking a control drug substance and 6 firearm offences. 33-year-old Jason Johnson from Lloydminster received similar charges including failure to comply with a Justice of the Peace recognizance. Dustin Gellerman from Edmonton received 10 charges and was also wanted on six outstanding warrants.

Both Johnson and Gellerman are currently in custody and will appear Bonnyville provincial court on May 21. Dase was released on a $1,500 recognizance with several conditions and will appear in St.Paul provincial court on May 22.
