Vermilion RCMP have arrested and charged a 55-year-old impaired driver after a chase.
Police say officers responded to request for help from EMS on Saturday who were helping an unresponsive driver in Vermilion. RCMP arrived and begun an impaired driving investigation, which turned into a chase after the driver drove off. Police ended up finding and arresting the driver in his home after he crashed into a fence disabling his vehicle. No one was injured during the chase.
The 55-year-old Vermilion resident received several charges including impaired driving, refusal to provide a breath sample. The male was released from custody and will appear in Vermilion Provincial Court on July 15. RCMP says since the matter is before the courts, no more information will be released.
