260 students celebrate graduation from Lakeland

Around 260 students from the Lloydminster campus of Lakeland College are moving on to the next chapter of their life. On Friday, the post-secondary institution celebrated the graduation of students from degree, diploma and certificate programs.

The ceremony including graduates from the Business, Energy, Health and Wellness, Street Rod Technologies and University Transfer programs. Krupa Shah, a graduate of the Business Administration program, received the President’s Medal for her excellence in academics and leadership in student activities.

“When I came from India I didn’t know what I was getting myself into,” even with the stress of school, Shah says she wouldn’t change a thing if given the chance. ” I had a lot of funs, made so many good relations, learn so many things for my self-development and just in general.”

Shah plans to come back to Lloydminster next year to work at RBC, in the meantime, she’s headed to Ontario to visit family and then back to India to assist her dad with the family business.

“It’s going to be completely different I don’t know if I am ready for it or not. I’ve worked parttime jobs but never a fulltime, like no longer a student part of it. I am looking forward to it but I am kinda nervous about it because it’s going to be a completely new experience.”

The ceremony also included a presentation of the Distinguished Alumni Award and an Honorary Credential. The Vermilion campus convocation will be held June 7.

It's Tre "the Giant Employee", doing that evenings/weekends on 106.1 The Goat. I am bringing my overall weirdness to the earholes of Lloydminster. I know this guy other guy named Tre Lopushinsky who does news. He's a real professional, informing Lloydminster on what's going on.
