wanted 29-year-old man arrested after police chase near Frog Lake

Elk Point RCMP  have arrested a 29-year-old man who was wanted on 14 different charges. On June 16, after receiving calls of an erratic driver in Frog Lake, police say an attempt to pull over a vehicle resulted in a chase.

The pursuit had ended due to safety concerns in the Fishing Lake Metis Settlement. The vehicle was later found abandoned and had been confirmed stolen from Bonnyville. Police and the Cold Lake Police dog services eventually caught up to the driver.

Matthew Lajimodiere faces four news charges including Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. He will appear in St.Paul Provincial Court on June 27.

As the matter is now before the court, no further information will be released.
