Canadian Cancer Society gears up for Jail ‘n Bail

The Canadian Cancer Society’s Jail ‘n Bail is coming to Lloydminster.

The organization is holding their fundraiser on Tuesday, September 29, with a mock jail set up in the Lloyd Mall. People who are accused will be arrested by people posing as detectives, taken to a judge in the mall to have their bail set, and sent to a cell while they try to raise enough money for their release. The society says they also have options for house arrest for people who don’t have time to spend in a cell.

Joyce Pawlowski, event organizer, says the organization also has a list of Most Wanted suspects.

“We’ve got [RCMP] Inspector Suki Manj, we’ve got John Winter, who is the president of the Chamber [of Commerce], We have Chris Dobson, who is the president of Ironjet [Promotions], James Wood, who is a crime reporter from the Meridian Booster, and Scott Dopko, who is a realtor [with Musgrave Agencies].”

Pawlowski also says they’re still looking for snitches to suggest people to arrest. To make suggestions or volunteer, go to jailnbail.ca.
