City Hall announces Seniors’ Week celebrations

The city of Lloydminster has declared today the start of Seniors’ Week.

The week runs from Monday, September 28, to Sunday, October 4, and is being celebrated in communities across Saskatchewan.

“In Lloydminster, our seniors are active and engaged,” said Mayor Rob Saunders. “They have a tremendously positive impact in local arts and culture, sport, volunteer work, support of charities, and much more.”

The city has two events planned.

First is Souper Seniors at the Legacy Centre on Wednesday, September 30 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Seniors will have the opportunity to make soup and socialize, and take some of the soup home with them. To register, seniors can call (780) 875-4584.

The second is Seniors Day at the Servus Sports Centre, on Thursday, October 1. Seniors can attend a free pancake breakfast between 7 and 9 a.m, and a free fitness class from 9:30 to 10:30. Seniors will also have free access to everything in the sports centre throughout the day.
