Laraque,McGrattan announced for Battle of Alberta

Two new players have been announced for both sides of the ice at the Battle of Alberta charity hockey game.

Boundary Ford announced on Friday that Oiler’s fan favourite and 12 year NHL veteran Georges Laraque and Brian McGrattan who played a decade in the NHL, including Calgary, will be joining the Lloydminster Health Foundation fundraiser.

The Boundary sponsored event will see sixteen alumni players from the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames face-off with all proceeds supporting the LRHF’s mental health initiative, Project Sunrise.

Currently, the Oilers see Marc Fistric, Louie Debrusk, Doug Hicks and Georges Laraque announced to represent northern Alberta. The Calgary Flames are sending alumni Jamie Macoun, Mike Commodore, Dana Murzyn and Brian McGrattan.

Four more players will be announced through the next two Friday’s leading up to the charity game at the Centennial Civic Centre on Saturday, September 28.
