More than $1,700 raised from 2019 Golf Fore the Cure

The Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre (LGCC) raised $1,786 for the Canadian Cancer Society at the 2019 Golf Fore the Cure on Tuesday, August 20. The LGCC hosted 67 golfers for the second annual nine-hole charity event. In a statement, LGCC Golf Pro Marty Wheaton thanks everyone who took part.

“Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s event. Your generous support allows the Canadian Cancer Society to continue their efforts in finding a cure for breast cancer,” says Wheaton.

Nearly $7,000 has been raised in the two years LGCC has taken part in the national fundraiser. Since its inception in 2003, Golf Fore the Cure, presented by Subaru, has raised over $6.7 million for breast cancer research, with proceeds going to program partners Canadian Cancer Society and Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation.
