Lloydminster man found in tall grass after police chase in Saskatoon

Police have charged a 29-year-old man from Lloydminster after a stolen car chase in Saskatoon. Police says the driver initially evaded a traffic stop early morning on September 3 while driving a silver Ford Escape.

Another officer spotted the vehicle later on that morning and another traffic stop was attempted. The driver began driving erratically as he once again tried to evade police. Saskatoon Police says the air support unit located and followed the vehicle.

The car was stopped after hitting a spike strip and a fence in a ditch near 46th Street East and Northridge Drive. The driver exited the vehicle running west across Idylwyld Drive.

A police dog found the man hiding in tall grass and he was taken into custody. Police say he was treated for minor injuries due to contact with the canine unit.

The man is facing five charges including evading police and dangerous driving.
