Lloydminster Health Gala a success

This past Friday marked the 15th Annual Lloydminster Region Health Foundation Gala.

The Lloydminster Stockade was outfitted to resemble the inside of a circus tent, fitting with the Cirque des Reves theme. The evening featured a dinner, dance, live circus performers, and both live and silent auctions to raise funds for the Renal Dialysis Department.

Wendy Plandowski, CEO of the LRHF, says she was pleased with the turnout.

“[The] turnout was great,” Plandowski said. “This gala has been going on for 15 years, so we have a pre-prescribed guest list of people that have been coming for years, and this year we didn’t know with moving it up by a month because of the November holiday, we just didn’t know how it would go over, but it’s been great.”

Plandowski also says that she is happy with the results of the live auction.

“Our community is going through a tough time right now, and we just really wanted people to be able to give what they could, and we’re just thrilled with the way the live auction turned out… The cause is near and dear to a lot of peoples’ hearts.”

The LRHF does not yet have a total of funds raised.
