Candidates confirmed for federal election forum

Local politicians in both ridings are confirmed for the All Candidates Forum. 

The Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce is hosting the forum and will open the doors at the Lloydminster Exhibition at 6 p.m on October 10. 

In the Battlefords-Lloydminster riding, People’s Party of Canada representative Jason McInnis, Liberal Party of Canada’s Larry Ingram and New Democratic Party’s Marcella Pedersen are confirmed to participate.

In the Lakeland riding, Alain Houle of the PPC and Conservative Party of Canada’s Shannon Stubbs are confirmed. 

The forum will be held in the Prairie Room and will start with candidates from the Battlefords-Lloydminster riding at 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. 

There will be a half-hour recess where voters can speak to the candidates further. The forum continues with the Lakeland candidates from 8:30 to 10 p.m.

The forum will follow the same format as the previous All Candidates Forum in April. Each candidate will have 2 minutes to introduce themselves and explain their platform before going into the question period. Attendees will write out their questions which will be collected and grouped together to avoid repeat questions.

The federal election will take place on October 21.
