Rotary Club looking for donations for garage sale

The Rotary Club of Lloydminster is looking to hold the biggest garage sale in the city.

Rotary Club President Stan Bugeira says the club has access to a 50,000 square foot building on 4700 62 Avenue and they want to fill with anything they can for the sale.

“We haven’t tried it before but we’re optimistic it’s going to come through,” Bugeira says. “If you have a lawnmower that’s getting tired someone can use it at the lake and they might pay $20 for it.”

All items in the garage sale are donations from the community and anything purchased at the sale will go towards the club’s programs and projects.

“We support local charities like the Olive Tree and the Salvation Army. We’re building a school overseas in the Philippines. We’ve donated $50,000 to the heliport for the STARS helipad. Just about all causes in town we’ve supported one way or another over the years.”

The first donations the club has received for the sale so far is construction equipment and furniture.

Bugeira says there’s no set date for the event as he is waiting for more donations to come in but expects to have it ready before spring.

Those looking to donate to the sale can contact Bugeira through the club’s Facebook page.
