Lloydminster supporting Children’s Wish through Air Guitar

Last Thursday, at the Border City Farmers Market, Airband Together For A Wish was raising money for Children’s Wish across Western Canada.

Amanda Bustard, along with her partner David Gale, record contestants as they Air Guitar to popular rock songs. Then, they picked the three best or most entertaining videos of the day and posted it to  Facebook. Followers then vote on which performance is their favorite.

People who either made a donation, or did an air guitar solo, could have won a set of four tickets to the Flames vs. Oilers Alumni Game on Saturday, September 28.

Amanda Bustard, producer and co-owner of Airband Together For A Wish, says that they were traveling from Edmonton to Saskatoon when they got invited to the Border City Farmers Market.

“We came out with our 42-foot trailer and set up a stage in the back and had people compete in an Air Guitar Riff-Off. So, they would play like 30 seconds off a guitar solo and pretend to rock out.”

After posting the video from the farmers market, Bustard and Gale announced that Michael Von was the top pick from the voters.

“We have had four tickets to the Alumni hockey game on Saturday, that we were giving away for the Air Guitar Challenge; and then we also gave away four tickets for people who made donations for Children’s Wish,” says Bustard.

Bustard and Gale are hoping to be back in Lloydminster next year for their tour.
