Sirens and Sapphires Gala sold out

The Lloydminster Rescue Squad’s 5th annual Sirens and Sapphires Gala is sold out.

“We’ve added a few extra tables this year and we are proud to say the event is sold out,” says Deputy Chief Ryan Leblanc.

The gala is the squad’s biggest fundraiser and will take place on October 5 at the Stockade Convention Centre. The event will be hosted by Danny Hooper and all proceeds from the live auction and silent auction will go towards the Rescue Squad.

The goal this year is to raise over $100,000 which will go towards paying off one of the command trucks as well as paying operating costs.

“We’ve got a lot of bills that comes through the year and so it’s going to go right back into the operations for the year.”

Last year, the squad was able to hit their goal of $100,000 which was used to replace ageing equipment. Leblanc says they are thankful for the Lloydminster community for their continuing support.

“Without the support of the community, it would be a struggle to continue on so we’re extremely grateful for the community support and coming out to this event.”
