AHS Screen Test program coming to Kitscoty

Women in Kitscoty will have access to screening for breast cancer later this month.

From Monday, October 26, to Thursday, October 29, Alberta Health Services’s Screen Test Program will be bringing their mobile mammography unit to the village. Anyone wishing to book an appointment should call 1-800-667-0604.

Mammography, a procedure which takes an X-ray of the breast, has been proven to be the most effective way of detecting breast cancer. AHS’s Screen Test Program was established to bring this service to women in rural areas who wouldn’t have access to the procedure otherwise.
