Gala, Havana Nights, will support new dialysis unit

Old school cars, flowers and cigars will be the sights at the 19 Annual Health Foundation Gala on Friday, October 18. This years theme is Havana Nights.

Malcolm Radke, CEO of Lloydminster Region Health Foundation, says that the community truly supports the hospital.

“Proceeds from this year’s gala will be going towards the much anticipated dialysis expansion; which moves the dialysis unit out of our hospital, gives us more stations and puts it in the community plaza downtown, where there is way more room.”

Money will also go towards new station chairs, a TV system, fridges and comfort kits for patients and families in the new dialysis unit.

Radke says that the decorator on the committee has always wanted to do Havana nights and she has been going a good job with the current plans.

Radke believes first time attendees will be surprised by the support of the community and how they support the hospital. This will be the first year that doctors in Lloydminster will be presenting sponsors.

“So, we have to raise 3.7 million; the Government of Alberta has committed 2.2, and we are at 300,000. We have about 1.2 still to go.”

Radke says this evening is for the hard workers in Lloydminster, they can relax and let go of any worries.

Tickets are still available for purchase
