Paradise Valley Museum receives funding for upgrades

The Climb Thru Time Museum in Paradise Valley will be receiving some upgrades after receiving funding from a grant.

The Paradise Valley & District Museum Society received $11,000 from the Rural Communities Foundation to help restore parts of the museum to historical standards. Upgrades include electrical work the grain elevator and the elevator agent’s office as well as restoring the museum’s window frames.

“As an agricultural co-operative, the United Farmers of Alberta Co-operation believes in the power of giving back to its members. We look forward to continuing to give back through the RCF in 2020,” says RCF Board Chair Harvey Hagman.

The museum has been running for 20 years and sees close to 15,000 visitors a year.

The RCF awarded $100,000 in grants to the communities of Delia, Onoway and Paradise Valley in 2019. The Onoway and District Historical Guild will build a machine shed for historical farm equipment and the Delia School Enhancement Society will use the funding for a green spaces project.

The RCF looks to improve the sustainability of farmers and ranchers in Alberta by improving access to funding for educational, recreational and cultural facilities and programs.
