RCMP investigate fatal accident near Maidstone

A man is dead after being hit by a car on highway 16.

Late in the evening of Friday, October 16, the RCMP were called to the scene of an accident, where an east-bound driver struck a pedestrian on the highway, 1 mile east of Maidstone. The man was found dead at the scene, and the RCMP are working to confirm his identity. The police also say that the driver had not been drinking, and that they don’t know why the man was walking on the travelling lane of the highway.

The RCMP say they have called in a collision re-constructionist from Saskatoon, and that they continue to investigate.
