Residents safe after early morning trailer fire

Three people are safe after a fire broke out in their trailer early Thursday morning.

Lloydminster fire crews from two halls responded to a trailer fire at around 1 a.m. in the 4800 block of 28 Street.

Captain Jerry Conlon says due to the quick reaction of the crews they were able to contain the fire to one structure.

Conlon says the residents were sleeping inside the trailer at the time of the fire and some bystanders were able to enter and get them out.

“The fire was found out by a bystander, I believe it was three of them, they saw the flames coming from the house and they actually went inside the house to wake the people up, there was heavy smoke inside the house, because of them it saved those people’s lives.”

No injuries were reported and the residents did not need to go to the hospital.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
