LPSD partners with Second Cup and RCMP in National School Bus Safety Week

The Lloydminster Public School Division has partnered with the RCMP and Second Cup for National Bus Safety Week.

Until Friday, October 23, the Second Cup on Highway 17 near 14 Street will be handing out coffee sleeves with their drinks with the slogan “Reds Flashing… No Passing!” printed on them, to remind drivers to be courteous to school buses.

“Student safety is a constant focus for the Lloydminster Public School Division and we couldn’t be happier to partner with the RCMP and Second Cup to remind drivers to take heed when school buses are picking up or dropping off our students,” said Todd Robinson, LPSD’s Director of Education.

“The red lights flashing on a school bus mean stop and do not pass. Laws and policies such as this are created to protect our children and the public, which is why the Lloydminster RCMP will be working diligently to enforce them,” said Suki Manj, Lloydminster RCMP Inspector. “This partnership with the Lloydminster Public School Division and with Second Cup demonstrates how bus safety is the community’s responsibility.”
