Daylight saving survey asking for Albertans thoughts

Lloydminster can express their opinion on if daylight savings should be observed in Alberta.

The province is asking residents to share their thoughts on changing their clocks twice a year. Currently, Alberta is under the Daylight Saving Time Act. Most of Saskatchewan, Hawaii and Arizona do not follow daylight savings.

The government has launched an online survey to get feedback about daylight savings in Alberta.

“We know people have strong opinions about changing their clocks twice a year, and we want to hear them. As more Canadian provinces and territories and some American states are having discussions about this, it’s important that we hear from Albertans,” says Nate Glubish, Service Alberta Minister.

In March, the European Union voted to end the seasonal time change by 2021. In October, the British Columbia legislation tabled the move to summer hours all year.

The survey can be completed by Tuesday, December 10.
