Northern Lights School Division approves three-year education plan

The Northern Lights School Division’s Steering committee has approved the division’s three-year education plan.

The division says that they collected data when formulating the plan through more than 40 face-to-face meetings with students, staff and parents, and noticed two main themes emerging – Learning, including numeracy and literacy, and Engagement, which includes communication, health and well-being, and technology.

The division says its three main goals over the next three years will be improving literacy and numeracy, enhancing communication, and promoting health and wellness.

“I would like to thank the members of the steering committee for volunteering their time and their insight to help us with our strategic planning process,” said Board Chair Arlene Hrynyk. “It’s important for us to hear from all of our stakeholders as we move forward with implementing a plan that is focused on offering all of our students the best possible opportunities we can for them to learn and excel. We value all of the feedback we received during the consultations and are committed to continuing to have conversations with all of our stakeholders as we move forward with implementing our three-year plan.”
