Two charged in Lloydminster break and enter; two more suspected to be involved

Two people are facing charges for a break and enter at a Lloydminster home and RCMP believe two more people may have been involved.

Lloydminster RCMP were notified of a break and enter at a home in the 4100 block of 53 Avenue in the early hours of January 9. Two people were seen fleeing the scene and were caught by police with the help of the Police Dog Services.

Glenn Junior Davis and John Andrew Penny were charged with breaking and entering and mischief.

The 50-year-old Penny is also charged with possession of property obtained by crime while 44-year-old Davis faces additional charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a break-in instrument.

Both were released and will be in Alberta Provincial Court on January 28.

Lloydminster RCMP is reminding the public of the following safety tips to keep your possessions safe:

  • Speak with your neighbours when you are leaving town for an extended period of time
  • Have someone check on your property periodically
  • Do not post on any social media that you are leaving town
  • Have all exterior/interior lights on a timer
  • Put a hold on packages, or have someone pick them up

The investigation is still on-going and the RCMP suspect two other people were involved in the incident. Anyone with more information about the incident is asked to call the Lloydminster RCMP at 780-808-8400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
