UPDATE: Man shot near 44 Street remains in hospital

UPDATE: The RCMP say the man was shot and still remains in hospital. They say it was not a random incident and the investigation is ongoing.

They are asking for anyone with information to call the Lloydminster RCMP detachment at 780-808-8400. Those wanting to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Lloydminster RCMP continues to investigate an incident where a man was found laying on the road on 44 Street with life-threatening injuries.

At about 1 a.m. on January 27, Mounties found the man and called for EMS to transport him to the hospital. The man was later air-lifted to a separate hospital.

RCMP says there will be more police presence in the area of 44 Street while the Forensic Investigation Unit is on scene.

Police believe there are no additional concerns for public safety and further details will be released when available.
