Elk Point RCMP investigate fatal crash

Elk Point RCMP are investigating after a car crash has left one man dead.

Early in the afternoon of Wednesday, November 4, Elk Point and Bonnyville RCMP were called to highway 41 18 km north of Elk Point, where a northbound 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier had lost control, rolled and landed on its roof.

The 21-year-old driver from Kehewin was pronounced dead at the scene, while his 4 passengers were taken to hospitals in St. Paul and Bonnyville.

The RCMP have called in a collision reconstructionist. They say the investigation is ongoing, but that speed and alcohol appear to be factors.
