Lloydminster’s MS Society pays tribute to their donors

The Lloydminster chapter for the MS Society of Canada has paid tribute to their donors and volunteers at the MS Appreciation Night.

The Chapter reviewed its many programs and services for those affected by MS as well as announced the award winners for Volunteer of the Year, which went to Vice Chair of the Board, Dean Sutherland, and Junior Volunteer of the Year, which went to Celine Park-Beaupre.

The Chapter also announced its total funds raised for the MS Walk of 2015, and Board Member and MS patient, Gail Taylor was named the Top Individual Fundraiser of the year. Taylor says the disease has actually had a positive impact on her life.

“MS has changed my life,” Taylor said. “I consider it almost a blessing. It has opened my heard, and when you volunteer, your heart just keeps growing bigger and bigger, and without getting MS, I’m not sure I would have learned that as early as I did. For me, it was a great experience, which is horrible to say, but for that part, yes. You give of yourself – it is a great feeling.”

The MS Society’s Lloydminster Chapter raised $188,000 for MS research and support services from the 2015 MS Walk alone.
