Three people have been arrested after a robbery in Lloydminster.
Early in the morning of Thursday, November 12, the RCMP received a report of a robbery in the 4700 block of Highway 16, where two people were pulled from their car by multiple suspects, assaulted, and had their vehicle stolen.
The police found the car a short time later, and have taken three people into custody with more arrests anticipated. The names of the suspects were not released.
“The police officers that were working when this occurred acted quickly resulting in the recovery of the stolen vehicle and the arrest of three suspects,” said Constable Grant Kirzinger.
One of the victims has been taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. The police say the suspects and the victims were known to each other, and that the act was not random.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with further information is asked to call the RCMP at (780) 808-8400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
