SIGA temporarily closing operations

The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) is shutting down operations for the time being due to COVID-19 concerns.

In a statement issued Monday, the casino operator said it has suspended operations at the end of the gaming day, prompted by warnings from the Provincial Government and health authorities.

SIGA Board Chair Chief Reginald Bellerose says that the health of their workers, community and customers is their top priority.

At the moment the casinos, including Lloydminster’s Gold Horse Casino and North Battleford’s Gold Eagle Casino, will be closed for the next two weeks, and the situation will be assessed after that.

SIGA adds that they have activated their continuity plan, meaning some team members will stay on in “essential positions” managing and protecting company assets.
