City closes outdoor ice rinks for the season

The City of Lloydminster is calling a wrap on outdoor skating for this year.

As of Tuesday, the city has closed all outdoor skating rinks, which includes:

  • Bud Miller All Seasons Park
  • Queen Elizabeth School
  • Kin-Kinette Park
  • Servus Sports Centre Outdoor Oval
  • Bishop Lloyd Middle School
  • Winston Churchill Elementary School
  • Jack Kemp Community School
  • E.S. Laird Middle School
  • Robertson Park

The city is also issuing a warning for people to stay away from retention lakes and ponds. With the weather warming, the ice covering these lakes will start to thin.

Residents are also asked to obey all signs and keep kids and pets away from these bodies of water.
