LRHF receives large amount of mask donations for hospital staff

Lloydminster Region Health Foundation CEO Malcolm Radke thanks the community for their help in keeping medical staff safe.

The Lloydminster Region Health Foundation put out a call to the community before the weekend asking local businesses for masks. Radke says as of March 24 their last count was at 1,200 masks.

“We have enough P100 reusable masks and enough N95. We’re incredibly grateful for the community for stepping up once again. It looks like we have solid, reliable sources for other ppe supplies that we need and should have that all within a week.”

Radke says front-line workers were relieved when the masks came in. In his call out, Radke mentions 300 would cover critical frontline workers while 900 would cover every worker across every local facility.

“Sourcing personal protective equipment is a challenge right now for every health care facility across the continent.”

Rake says they now have contacts who will be able to reliably source personal protective equipment to the foundation and the hospital staff.

“If for some reason things fall through and we need more we’ll certainly put the call out again but as of now we’re in good shape.”
