Lloydminster Kinettes holding Easter house decorating contest

The Lloydminster Kinettes wants residents to dress up their yards and windows ahead of Easter and spread some cheer. The Kinettes are holding an Easter themed house decorating contest with participants sending a picture of their home to the Kinettes.

“Decorate your yard or windows for Easter or springtime and email us your picture and your address, if you’re comfortable with that,” Secretary Bayley Blackwell explains. “We will then post the submissions on our Facebook page whichever top three pictures gets the most likes will win a prize.”

She says the prizes are all from local businesses. Blackwell mentions addresses will not be given out and entrants will remain anonymous throughout the contest.

Blackwell says the Kinettes had to cancel all their regular events this Easter because of the pandemic but they still want to support residents at this time.

“I think it’s important that we try and stick together as a community. Community groups, like the Lloydminster Kinettes, even though we can’t hold events to support the people in our community and we can’t do a lot of fundraising but we’re still involved.”

Submissions will be taken through the club’s email at [email protected]. The deadline to submit is 6 p.m. on April 8 with voting ending at noon on April 10. Winners will be picked on either that afternoon or the morning of April 11.
