The Saskatchewan Government is bringing in methods to license more medical professionals during the COVID 19 pandemic.

Effective April 3rd, The Ministry of Health will work with professional health bodies to put measures in place to provide temporary licenses for retired, non-practicing and student members. The Province will also cover the fees for these professionals, saving medical workers hundreds of dollars.

Also announced Friday, all employees working at long-term care facilities in Saskatchewan will have their temperatures checked and will be monitored for COVID-19 symptoms prior to beginning their shifts.

In their Friday update, The Government says COVID-19 cases are now at 220 confirmed cases, with three people in hospital. 48 people have also recovered around Saskatchewan. In the North Zone, there are 42 cases and 14 recoveries.

So far, 12,112 COVID Tests have been performed across the province, with 11,504 negative results.
